His reign will end with the coming of Jesus Christ to earth (2 Thess 2:8) at the terrible battle of Armageddon (Rev. 16:13-16; Rev. 19:17-21), which will consummate the defeat of the Antichrist.

The Antichrist and the false prophet will then be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 19:20); this final destiny of the Antichrist is also revealed by his name ‘son of perdition’ (2 Thess 2:3; meaning: ‘he who is doomed to perdition’).
