5. The duration of the reign of the Antichrist

– After gradually extending his reign (first part of the Tribulation, 3 and a half years), the Antichrist will exercise his world dictatorship for 42 months, or 3 and a half years (Rev. 13:5b; cf. Mt 24:22).

– His reign will end with the coming of Jesus Christ to earth (2 Thess 2:8) at the terrible battle of Armageddon (Rev. 16:13-16; Rev. 19:17-21), which will consummate the defeat of the Antichrist.
